From Doctorate Bound to Doctoral Gown!

From Doctorate Bound to Doctoral Gown!

Greetings

I’m Jennifer Dyer, Ph.D., Principal Consultant for DJD Dissertation Consulting. I started this business because I am passionate about helping doctoral students achieve their goals. With a proven track record of student success, I am committed to meeting the unique needs of working professionals who are advancing their careers while pursuing a doctoral degree. Firsthand, I have witnessed how many doctoral students struggle due to limited guidance and support. Students often hesitate to admit confusion or ask questions, even when they don’t fully understand their advisor’s feedback. Drawing on my university experience as the Doctoral Program Coordinator for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Dissertation Chair & Advisor, and Committee Member, I help students by explaining feedback and work with students on how to ask questions to their Chair and Committee Members.

As a higher education professional with over 25 years of combined experience in administration, teaching, and research, I am dedicated to student retention and success. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades in Texas public schools and hold lifetime teaching certificates in Elementary Education and Reading. In Higher Education, I have taught courses in early childhood education, elementary education, diversity and equity, teacher education, reading, literacy, action research, and qualitative research. I have successfully chaired dissertations and sat on many dissertation committees. Currently, I serve on an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and hold up-to-date CITI research training certificates. As a principal investigator or co-principal investigator, I have secured over $ 1.219 million in refereed grants and $288,158,000 in non-refereed grants.

I recently retired as Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at East Texas A&M University, where I oversaw the Office of Theses and Dissertations and approved final submissions. Over the years, I discovered one of my true passions: helping doctoral students cross the finish line. Together, we create realistic, doable timelines that keep momentum strong and lead to on-time graduation.

I understand how much professors juggle teaching, research, service, and everything in between, and I know that doctoral students often find themselves navigating the process with minimal support. That’s where I come in. As a hands-on, high-touch dissertation coach, I provide the structure, accountability, and encouragement students need to move forward. I also offer expert proofreading and editing in APA 7 style, always aligning with your university’s specific guidelines.
