Doctoral Bound to Doctoral Gown

Doctoral Bound to Doctoral Gown

Greetings

I’m Jennifer Dyer, Ph.D., Principal Consultant for DJD Dissertation Consulting. I started this business because I am passionate about helping doctoral students achieve their goals. Our team comprises seasoned professionals with a proven track record of student success. We are committed to meeting the unique needs of working professionals who are advancing their careers while pursuing a doctoral degree. I have witnessed firsthand how many doctoral students struggle due to limited guidance and support. Students often hesitate to admit confusion or ask questions, even when they don’t fully understand their advisor’s feedback. Drawing on my experience as a Doctoral Program Coordinator, Advisor, and Committee Member, I help students interpret feedback, clarify expectations, and move forward.

As a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, I am a higher education professional with over 25 years of combined experience in administration, teaching, and research. Additionally, I am dedicated to student retention and success. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades in Texas public schools and hold lifetime teaching certificates in Elementary Education and Reading. In Higher Education, I have taught courses in early childhood education, elementary education, diversity and equity, teacher education, reading, literacy, action research, and qualitative research. I have successfully chaired numerous dissertations and sat on many dissertation committees. I serve on the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and hold up to date CITI research training certificates. As a principal investigator or co-principal investigator, I have secured over $ 1.219 million in refereed grants and $288,158,000 in non-refereed grants.

Recently, I retired as Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School. In this role, I supervised the Office of Thesis and Dissertations and approved theses and dissertations. One of my areas of expertise is motivating doctoral students in their programs. We co-create a realistic backward timeline to ensure graduation before reaching deadlines. Professors work hard balancing life, teaching, research, and scholarship. Doctoral students are often left with minimal guidance and support. I am a high-touch coach offering proofreading and editing in APA 7 format. Further, I am passionate about working with and mentoring and coaching doctoral students.
